About us

Welcome to

Little Sunshine Daycare Center,

Where we nurture young minds and foster a sense of community through a comprehensive early education childcare program. We embrace an emergent curriculum that honors children’s natural curiosity and creativity, allowing them to explore and learn at their own pace. Our conscious discipline approach encourages self-regulation, empathy, and social responsibility, guiding children to become confident, compassionate, and thoughtful individuals.

"The mission of Little Sunshine Daycare is to support the development of children in Lawrence and its surrounding communities through a program that inspires learning, character building, social skills, emotional wellness, and confidence."

Meet the Director

My name is Johanneryck (Johan) Valladares I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the Director of Little Sunshine Daycare Center. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, I bring 17 years of experience in early childhood education, including 4 years as Director at Pine Village Preschool at Jamaica Plain.

I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a passion for teaching, I’m dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive. I believe that strong relationships, kindness, empathy and ongoing professional development are key for an amazing school.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, and relaxing at home. My grandfather’s wish for me to become a teacher and a life-changing experience with my 4th-grade teacher inspired me to make a difference in children’s lives.

As a fellow parent, I understand the value of community. I’m committed to supporting our families and staff, and I’m excited to meet you and welcome you to our amazing community.
